Despite being a small school, at Horton CE VA Primary School the children are given ample opportunities to excel in PE and sport. Horton attends many out of school events and festivals in which other schools take part in, for example the annual Cotswold Edge football tournament. We are also part of the Wotton and District Sports Group, through which we are invited to many competitions, including the athletics track and field events in the summer always proving popular with the junior children.

We employ a sports coach, who supports the delivery of PE weekly to each year group at the village hall. The coaching provides a variety of different sporting opportunities for the children, including an introduction to boccia and archery.

Alongside all of the above opportunities, years 5 – 6 go swimming at Yate Leisure Centre weekly. As a school, we aim to encourage as many children as possible to engage in a broad range of physical activities and support pupils to lead healthy and active lifestyles.
